Opening of the renovated Hotel Aurora
The Hotel Aurora, a part of the Jadranka Hotels Company from Mali Lošinj, following renovation now has four stars and new facilities. This marks the beginning of renovation of all the company's hotels, making the offer of this company much more appealing and prolonging the length of stays on this island and in Mali Lošinj, the renowned climatic health resort.
The new hotel Aurora disposes of almost 400 accommodation units, including several specially designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities.
The renovation included all areas of the hotel and the construction of the new wellness centre over two floors, which offers, among other facilities, unique views of the sea and the pine forest. The hotel, located in a beautiful pine forest in the immediate vicinity of the sea, now has an indoor and an outdoor pool.
The congress centre has a multi-purpose hall for 400 people and a meeting hall for ca. 20 participants. Business people and other interested guests will appreciate the news that all rooms now have Internet access.
The hotel was opened for visitors on the 31st of May, and the opening ceremony was on the 11th of July, when the Jadranka Hotels Company was awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certificate for quality management system, and the ISO 14001:2004 certificate for environmental management system.
The renovation of the hotel Aurora is the first step of the more comprehensive project for the renovation of all hotels within the Jadranka Company. The renovation of the hotel Vespera starts this October; the renovation of the hotel Punta in the autumn of 2009; and the hotel Helios will be pulled down and completely rebuilt. It is also planned to renovate the hotel Alhambra. The project should be completed by 2012, and the investment – including the education of the staff, training and grants – will amount to a total of 80 million euros, from which 24.4 million euros will be invested by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
