Who is the best cook?
From the 16th to the 21st of November, Opatija's Hotel Ambasador will host the Days of Croatian Cookery event and the 5th National Cooking Competition. About eighty of Croatia's best cooks will compete in nine categories for the title of National Champion 2008.
The Golden Chef is the central and most important annual event of the Croatian cookery and includes competitions in various categories: cold dishes, hot main courses, hospital menus, simple hot meals, Croatian culinary heritage, sweets, cakes, fruits and vegetables. The winner is awarded the title of the Croatian Champion 2008.
The 5th Croatian Championship of Cooks and Confectioners will be accompanied by the 3rd Camellia Cup – a competition of the students of specialised secondary schools, including 16 three-man teams made of final year students specialising in cooking and confectioner professions.
The organiser of these competitions and the educational seminars is the Croatian Culinary Federation, and the co-organisers are the Opatija Tourism Office, the Kvarner County Tourism Office, the Town of Opatija, and the Chefs Association of the County of Primorje-Gorski kotar.
The Days of Croatian Cookery 2008 event is held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Tourism.
