Museum of Modern and Contemporary Arts in Rijeka
17th International Drawings Exhibition

This year's International Drawings Exhibition, which will remain open in Rijeka's Museum of Modern and Contemporary Arts until the 17th of February 2009, includes animated cartoons by both renowned and less well known talented artists. The exhibition is a combination of a gallery display and a multiplex cinema.

Until the 17th of February 2009, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Arts in Rijeka hosts the 17th International Exhibition of Drawings. This year's exhibition, dedicated to drawings and animated cartoons, includes works by fifteen artists – a total of fourteen animated films and approximately hundred original sketches and drawings.
All works were made using traditional hand drawing technique. The movies are of recent production and do not belong to the commercial category, therefore most of them cannot be viewed at international film festivals. The exhibition is designed as a combination of gallery displays and multiplex cinema, where movies are shown as in a real cinema, and the drawings and sketches from each film are placed on the walls between large black stripes that remind a movie reel. In addition to worldwide renowned artists, this exhibition also includes work by unknown talented artists, as well as lectures, screenings and educational workshops.
