Ravna Gora
A wide range of services

At the end of 2008, Ravna Gora, a holiday resort in the central part of Gorski kotar, has got the new Goranka sports and business centre that will extend the range of services offered in this increasingly popular resort, a favourite destination of cyclists, hikers, nature lovers, but also fans of classical music.

In addition to a wide range of various services and business amenities, the Goranka sports and business centre includes a four-lane automatic bowling alley, a multipurpose hall for seminars and other types of events, and a multimedia room. The hall and the multimedia room should soon be fully equipped, thus providing additional services to round off the overall offer.

Due to its idyllic nature, good road connections (located near the Zagreb-Rijeka motorway), and its location near the towns of Zagreb inland and Rijeka on the coast, Ravna Gora is today a renowned holiday resort, particularly popular during the New Year and school holidays. Ravna Gora offers attractive possibilities for skiing and tobogganing in winter, and is a favourite destination of cyclists throughout the year because it features approximately 150 kilometres of cycling paths of various degrees of difficulty that combine two things cyclists are particularly fond of – recreation and wonderful preserved nature. This region is also renowned for its indigenous gastronomy and relevant educational programmes, especially concerning preparation of meals and sweets from local fruits, in which this area abounds.

Fans of classical music know Ravna Gora for its Chamber Music Festival which took place for the fifth time last year. This festival includes performances by eminent artists from Croatia and abroad – for example, last year's festival featured a guest performance by Werner Hink, a Vienna Philharmonic concertmaster.

Ravna Gora awaits visitors with four guesthouses offering board and lodging, as well as a dozen apartments.
