Congress tourism in Opatija
Tradition and the latest technology for business guests

Opatija is one of the most widely known Croatian congress tourism destinations whose venues host an increasing number of congresses each year. Numerous congress halls, equipped to the latest standards, expert members of staff, a beautiful town offering a wide range of services and amenities, and geographical closeness as well as excellent road connections have been key to the success of Opatija as a congress venue.

A tradition of welcoming visitors dating back more than 160 years is reflected wherever you go in Opatija. However, the most prominent evidence of this tradition is the Villa Angiolina, whose construction in 1844 marked the beginning of tourism in Opatija. This villa, whose premises today host exclusive meetings and events, is surrounded by a park of about 30,000 square metres, protected as a monument of park architecture and definitely one of the most beautiful gardens on the Adriatic coast.
Another Opatija's landmark, the Hotel Kvarner, which was built more than 120 years ago and whose Crystal Hall hosted numerous congresses, musical festivals, performances, exhibitions and business events, is very popular among congress guests. The Crystal Hall can accommodate up to 900 participants and can look back at a history of magnificent royal balls and other events that never lack glamour due to the hall's unique ambience.
While these two buildings – Villa Angiolina and Hotel Kvarner – are witnesses of Opatija's history and modernity, there are many other hotels in the town whose capacities and orientation at business guests make them ideal venues for various business events, be it small meetings or large congresses. Let us just mention the hotels Ambasador, Adriatic, Milenij, 4 opatijska cvijeta, Imperial, Palace-Bellevue, Admiral and many others.
