In the footsteps of the miners of Tršće

The small holiday resort in Gorski kotar – Tršće – located some 15 kilometres from Čabar, now hosts a tourist-educational trail called “In the footsteps of the miners of Tršće“.

The six-kilometre-long trail informs visitors about the everyday lives of past local miners.
Tršće is located on a plateau surrounded by a dense forest and numerous meadows that lend the area a peaceful, tranquil feel. It is therefore no surprise that this area has become an attractive destination for visitors who love nature, especially in winter when the whole region is covered by snow and the nearby hills provide nice skiing opportunities.

Above Tršće is the mountain of Rudnik with two well-tended ski pistes and ski lifts. Tršće also hosts numerous sports grounds, a large sports hall and a large natural stadium for all kinds of running and other recreational activities, which is of particular interest to sportsmen who come here to prepare for competitions. The area is also of interest to hunters, as well as to all nature lovers because of the vicinity of a number of particularly attractive locations such as the source of River Kupa and the Risnjak National Park.
