Intense autumn of congresses

At the beginning of autumn, Opatija is always a popular venue for many congresses, whose delegates join guests who are still here enjoying their holidays. A rich congress offer, a long tradition of hospitality and professional staff are the key to Opatija's success as congress venue.

Opatija's hotels and other properties dispose of 55 halls covering a total area of approximately 7,000 square metres. The biggest and the oldest among them is Hotel Kvarner's Crystal Hall that can accommodate up to 900 people when seats are arranged in theatre layout.

According to the information obtained from Opatija's Congress Office, most important congress hotels in this town are Hotel Ambasador with nine halls (the largest hall has a capacity of 500 seats), the Milenij Grand Hotel 4 opatijska cvijeta with seven halls (the largest hall has a capacity of 400 seats), and the Grand Hotel Adriatic with 6 halls (the largest hall has a capacity of 550 seats). In addition, hotels Milenij, Admiral and Bristol have four halls each, and the Hotel Mozart has two.

Apart from conference halls, organisers of events have at their disposal representative premises in the Villa Angiolina, the Juraj Šporer Arts Pavilion, and the Villa Antonio.

Let us mention some of the congresses that will take place in Opatija this autumn. The EANS Training Course is scheduled for the period from the 12th to the 18th of September. On the 24th and 25th September, 400 participants will discuss the actual issues concerning administrative adjudication and practice. The first European University Bridge Contest with approximately 300 participant will take place from the 4th to the 10th of October. On the 10th and 11th of October, Opatija will host the third International Spa and Wellness Fair. Approximately 250 participants are expected on the fourth Croatian symposium with international participation about substituting kidney function from the 14th to the 18th of October. The second Symposium of authorised geodesy engineers with 450 professionals is scheduled for the period between the 23rd and the 25th of October. This list continues and will be even more intense in the following months, which means that Opatija is awaiting an intense autumn of congresses.

Opatija has a total of 2600 hotel rooms, out of which 1500 in four-star and five-star hotels.
