The first landing of larger aircraft in Mali Lošinj airport marked the introduction of a new charter flight schedule between Innsbruck and Mali Lošinj, which will start in May 2010.
At the beginning of October, the Mali Lošinj airport on the island of Lošinj hosted a ceremony to announce the introduction of a new tourist charter flight that will connect Mali Lošinj and Austria. The regular air route between Innsbruck and Mali Lošinj will take place once a week from May until the end of September 2010. In charge of the flights will be the Austrian travel agency Idealtours. The promotional flight was organised by the Idealtours travel agency with the help of the Mali Lošinj Tourist Board, the Town of Mali Lošinj, the representative office of the Croatian National Tourist Board in Vienna, and the Jadranka Hotel Company from Lošinj. On that occasion, Mali Lošinj was visited by 40 Austrian journalists and travel agents for whom this was the ideal chance to learn more about numerous attractions of the area. They also visited Jadranka Hotel Company's high-class Aurora, Vespera and Punta hotels that offer services that will definitely meet the increasing needs of modern demanding guests.All the passengers of this promotional flight were delighted with the warm welcome by their hosts. This was the first large aircraft to land in the Mali Lošinj airport after many years, which is why this was also the occasion to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in the history of this airport. This is a very important step for the people of Lošinj and their guests, because Mali Lošinj can be now included in the list of attractive Croatian flight destinations.
