Harlem Gospel Choir in Rijeka
Remembering Michael Jackson

Rijeka's inhabitants and visitors to the town are invited to enjoy a very special programme on the 30th of November in the town's Dvorana mladosti Hall – a concert by the world-renowned Harlem Gospel Choir, which has already given concerts for Nelson Mandela, Pope John Paul II, Barack Obama and many other celebrated personalities. In Rijeka they will perform the "Concert of Hope", with a special part entitled "Remembering Michael Jackson".

New York's Harlem Gospel Choir, one of the most famous church choirs in America and in the world, will give a concert on the 30th of November in Rijeka's Dvorana mladosti Hall. In an atmosphere filled with emotions, which is typical of their concerts, the audience will have the chance to enjoy a very special performance entitled “Concert of Hope”, featuring a tribute to the late legend, the king of pop Michael Jackson.

The concert will include not only the selection of gospel songs, but also a compilation “Remembering Michael Jackson” in a gospel arrangement.
The Angels in Harlem Choir, also known as the Harlem Gospel Choir, was founded by Allen Bailey in 1986 on the occasion of a celebration in honour of dr. Martin Luther King. The choir today has approximately 65 members aged between 17 and 70.

In its rich career, this renowned gospel choir gave concerts for Nelson Mandela, pope John Paul II, pope Benedikt XVI, Barack Obama and many others, and also appeared as guest to some of the greatest musicians and artists today, such as U2, Diana Ross, Whoopi Goldberg, Harry Belafonte, Cindy Lauper, Andre Rieu & Johann Strauss Orchestra, Paul McCartney, The Chieftains, The Dixie Hummingbirds, Jimmy Cliff, Gorillaz, Elton John, Mary J. Blige, Lisa Marie Presley, The Jazz Ambassadors, Jessica Simpson, Stephanie Mills, Simple Minds, Sinead O'Connor, Robin Gibb, Kim Wilde...
