On the 30th of January 2010, an attractive snow-covered snowboard trail will be set up in the centre of Rijeka, on the town's main promenade, the Korzo, to host the 3rd Croatia Carnival Snowboard Session 2010. It is a demanding championship, which will again feature performances by some of the best snowboarders from approximately ten European countries.
This one-day championship will surely attract numerous visitors to Rijeka who will have the chance to enjoy acrobatic exhibitions of top snowboarders.
The Carnival Snowboard Session in Rijeka is one of the most original championships in Europe, because it takes place in the immediate vicinity of the sea, which adds to its attractiveness.
The trail, made of approximately 70 cubic metres of snow, will be 50 metres long and 12 metres wide, and will host performances by some of the best Croatian snowboarders and competitors from several European countries – Iceland, Sweden, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria... With their acrobatic exhibitions, the competitors will definitely leave the audience breathless, but will also try to impress the expert jury to win their place on the winners' podium.
After the whole-day competition and the victory ceremony, which will also take place on the Korzo promenade, the competitors and the visitors are invited to the big after party with a rich musical programme.
The aim of the organisers of the Carnival Snowboard Session is to promote Rijeka as the only seaside town that hosts a snowboard competition. Rijeka has its winter trump – the large skating rink that is set up each winter on the town's waterfront.
