Easter breakfast – tradition and welcome

Spending Easter holidays in the renowned holiday resort of Baška on the island of Krk is a chance to learn more about the area's festive tradition and enjoy a variety of services and facilities. One thing is certain – if you choose to come here, it will be an interesting, pleasant and delicious Easter holiday.

Traditionally, Easter is the time when the main tourist season starts, characterised by opening of the hotels, private accommodation, bars and restaurants. Liturgical celebrations in Baška will take place in the Church of Holy Trinity (crkva Sv. Trojice), accompanied by numerous other events for local people and foreign visitors.

A programme entitled "Easter Breakfast" will be organised by the Baška Tourism Office, the parish of Baška, Šoto cultural society, Sinjali and Mali Sinjali societies, and the Društvo Naša djeca organisation. The programme starts at Easter after the holy mass, in front of the parish church.

In addition to the traditional blessing of Easter eggs and dishes, local people and restaurant owners will prepare Easter specialities to welcome this season's first guest.

This morning programme will end with a varied cultural programme including performances by Šoto, Mali Sinjali and Društva Naša djeca societies. In the evening, the Church of Holy Trinity will host Easter concert by the Collegium musicum Fluminense, a baroque ensemble from Rijeka.
