Mali Lošinj in Zagreb
Invitation with good reason

A mimosa from Lošinj in bloom was a perfect scenery for the presentation of Mali Lošinj, its benefits for human health, and the 125-year-long tradition of health tourism. The message is clear – enjoy life, become healthier, and get rid of stress!

People of Lošinj addressed this invitation to the inhabitants of Zagreb, their business partners, and all those who have already visited some of the island's resorts, or are planning to do so in the near future.

To mark the 125th anniversary of health tourism in Lošinj, the Mali Lošinj Tourism Office published a booklet entitled "Natural Therapeutic Factors of the Island of Vitality" with data upon which the island's health tourism is based. Thirty years of measurements showed that Lošinj has more than 2,600 hours of sunshine per year, which makes it one of the sunniest places in Croatia. Another distinctive feature is particularly important today – moderate variations in temperature during the day help to reduce stress. Sea water quality measurements reveal its superb cleanliness, and clean sea and unpolluted air, which are confirmed by continuous measurements in 2007 and 2008, have a beneficial effect on the respiratory system, the whole body and the overall psychophysical state. Lošinj – the Island of Vitality is therefore ideal place for holidays and walks on some of the 220-km-long walking trails that benefit form the fresh sea air. People of Lošinj are very concerned about the responsible development of the island and its future – this is best illustrated by the fact that the mayor has recently announced the compilation of the Action plan for the sustainable development of Lošinj.
