Mali Lošinj Tourism Office
Creative development of the island
In order to further improve the quality of facilities and services offered, giving them an even more creative and dynamic edge, this March the Mali Lošinj Tourism Office started a varied destination development programme. This aims to make the area's famed hospitality now even more apparent…
Since the beginning of March, tourism professionals and inhabitants of Mali Lošinj who offer tourism services can participate in the series of educational programmes aimed at developing creative destination, which is one of the major goals of this island's tourism. The programme was initiated by the Mali Lošinj Tourism Office and will include various lectures, workshops and presentations focused on sustainable development of the island's heritage, high-quality services, and modern tourism promotion.
The programmes for the development of the creative destination are aimed at all those who are or will be somehow engaged in tourism. They were designed to inform the participants in an interesting, dynamic and educational way about various elements necessary for improving the quality of the services offered.
Educational workshops that have started so far include language courses, lectures about modern interior design in private accommodation, guided cultural tours of the island, and the famous Adrian's fragrant cuisine.
The programme also included a two-day workshop entitled How to be different and to make a difference on the market, with lecturers from the Centre for Personality Development in Zagreb.
The objective of this workshop was to motivate employees for the development of a tourism organisation aimed at guests and high-quality services. The workshop covered a variety of topics such as basic prerequisites for offering services on the market, key strategies for developing and increasing competitiveness, and raising awareness and motivation of the employees responsible for offering high-quality services. Participant of the workshop could learn more about basic competences for a motivated and efficient employee, the pyramid of excellence, and how hospitality initiates all other activities.
Other planned activities include educational programmes about e-marketing, visitors' psychology, and the analysis of guest satisfaction. There will also be expert workshops for sommeliers and creative cuisine. They are all aimed at making the stay of the visitors on this island even more pleasant already this summer.
