For the seventh year in a row, visitors to the town of Rijeka are invited to a series of attractive cultural and entertainment events throughout the month of July within the traditional Rijeka Summer Nights festival.

The 7th Rijeka Summer Night festival starts with an attractive opening ceremony on the 29th of June. The festival will include numerous cultural, entertainment, film and musical events that will take place on various locations in the town from the end of June until the end of July, transforming Rijeka into a large open-air stage, which will surely attract many visitors interested in culture to this town.
The central part of the festival programme will include a series of premieres and famous plays that have already gained their audience. One of them is the stage play "Scents, gold and incense", traditionally set in the unique ambience of the small harbour of Kantrida beneath the Rijeka football stadium. Another attractive play, "Lukrecija o'bimo rekli Požeruh", will be performed on the Glavanovo beach in the part of the town called Pećine, which can be reached on foot in only ten minutes from the centre of Rijeka.
As in the previous years, the musical programme will mostly focus on classical repertoire. The famous Ode to Joy will be performed on the pontoon in the harbour of Rijeka on the 29th of June, after which follows a series of classics. Pietro Mascagni's opera Cavalleria Rusticana; Vivaldi's Four Seasons performed by the chamber orchestra; Midnight Summer's Dream performed by the Rijeka Philharmonics; guitar Jazz Concertino; Lost Poems performed by the famous violinist Stefan Milenković, accompanied by Edin Karamazov on guitar; opera Tosca – these are just some highlights from the rich musical programme.
