Krk Jazz Live 2010
2nd international jazz festival and summer school

From the 3rd to the 7th of July, the town of Krk on the island of the same name will host the 2nd International Krk Jazz Live 2010 jazz festival and summer school. Participants will have the chance to enjoy some superb jazz performances, learn a lot, and even play with top jazz musicians and lecturers from London and other renowned European academies.

The town of Krk Tourism Office, together with the JAZZart and Global Music Foundation organisations, proudly presents the second international jazz school and jazz festival entitled "Krk Jazz Live", which will take place in the town of Krk on the island of the same name from the 3rd to the 7th of July 2010.
The participants will have the chance to learn and improve their musical skills, and the visitors to enjoy concert performed by top musicians and teachers in the summer school every evening.
The school will include instrumental, vocal, rhythmical and physical disciplines aimed at improving the musicians' skills, concentration and understanding. The lectures will be held by a team of renowned international musicians: Stephen Keogh (leader of the school/drums), Pietro Tonolo (saxophone/wind instruments), Frank Harrison (piano), Jeremy Brown (bass), Felix Gibbons (percussion/samba), Alfred Kramer (trombone/drums), Garrison Fewell (guitar), Guillermo Rozenthuler (vocal) and Tonči Žužić (poetry).
These are all professional musicians who give lectures on renowned academies in London and across Europe, and on the American Berklee School of Music.
The participants will daily practice in teams to improve their musical skills, enjoy superb concerts every evening together with the inhabitants and visitors in Krk, and have the chance to perform on the last day of the festival. The concerts will take place in the Frankopan Castle, an old fortification, one of the most impressive buildings in Krk, today a venue of various cultural events. A big concert by all the participants and lecturers in the centre of the town will mark the end of the Krk Jazz Live 2010 festival.
