Summer on the Crikvenica Riviera
A packed calendar of events

After enjoying the sun and the sea by day, visitors to Crikvenica and the areas surrounding its Riviera can choose from a variety of exciting events taking place in the afternoons and evenings. Particularly worth mentioning is the European Basketball Championship for players up to 20 years of age, from the 8th to the 14th of July.

This summer, visitors to Crikvenica, Dramalj, Jadranovo and Selce will have the chance to enjoy not only the sea and the sun, but also a variety of entertainment, musical, cultural and sports events in the afternoons and evenings.
The packed programme of events is a guarantee that visitors in the mentioned resorts will have a good time. Every day there is something on the programme – on some days there will even be several various activities aimed at all age groups (children, sport fans, families, young and old), designed to learn more about the local customs and have a great time.
Most of the events will take place in Crikvenica, starting with the 8th Sport Festival in the period between the 1st and the 4th of July on the central town beach and in the waters off Crikvenica. The programme includes beach handball, volleyball and wakeboard. Sport fans will also have the chance to enjoy a spectacle on the 8th of July – approximately twenty matches within the European Basketball Championship up to 20 years of age. Crikvenica will host this championship in the period between the 8th and the 14th of July together with the towns of Zadar and Makarska.
The programme is designed to take place every day in all the mentioned resorts. Let us mention some of the highlights: Primorska noć, a music and gastronomic programme that will take place alternately in all the resorts along the Riviera starting from the 25th of June. On the 10th of July, Selce will host the big Fishermen's Party on the waterfront, and on the 16th of July the open-air Folklore Evening. On the same day, Dramalj will play host to the Evening of klape vocal groups, and one day later, Selce will be the venue of another fishermen's party. Some of the interesting exhibitions are: "Lion pit" (from the 3rd of July to the 31st of December in the Town of Crikvenica Museum), "Shade of fame" (from the 9th of July in the Town of Crikvenica Museum, dedicated to speedway), and the open-air exhibition of underwater photographs entitled "Incomparable Blue". The programme will also include numerous sport tournaments for children, tennis tournaments in Dramalj, table tennis tournaments on Crikvenica's town beach and in Jadranovo, concerts by klape vocal groups, summer carnival in Dramalj on the 31st of July, concert by Crikvenica's rock scene on the 22nd of July, attractive drummers performance "Samba beneath the volta" on the 25th of July in Jadranovo, Crikvenica Jazz Meeting on the terrace of the Hotel Therapia from the 23rd to the 25th of July, and the Ad Turres Festival on the 17th of July, dedicated to Crikvenica's antique heritage and tradition. In addition, visitors will have the chance to play bocce, pursue various water sports, try some fishing, and enjoy romantic evenings in Jadranovo. Malik Film Festival is scheduled for the period between the 2nd and the 7th of August, and the 100th Šilo – Crikvenica swimming marathon, one of the oldest events of this kind an the Adriatic, will take place on the 15th of August to mark the Day of Crikvenica. The main tourist season traditionally ends with the Fishermen's Week, Crikvenica's oldest entertainment programme, which this year takes place for the 44th time, in the period between the 28th of August and the 4th of September.
