Two-day Bundevijada Pumpkin Festival

Still not decided where to go on the second weekend of October? An easy choice would be to visit Vrbovsko and its two-day Bundevijada Pumpkin Festival – giving you the chance to learn more about making pumpkin masks and the traditional shepherd's games, to get more acquainted with some of the local products and customs, and of course to sample the wide range of pumpkin delicacies.

On the 9th and 10th of October, the Vrbovsko House of Culture will host another traditional Bundevijada Pumpkin Festival – the 6th exhibition of local food and customs of the Gorski kotar area. The programme is rich and varied and includes the competition for the smallest, heaviest and most interesting pumpkins, sampling of various pumpkin specialities, and a series of other interesting events.
The festival will bring together many exhibitors who will present their agricultural products such as honey, cheese, home-made liqueurs and other typical products of the region.
Making pumpkin figures and masks, presentations of local customs and various traditional games, sampling roasted chestnuts, potatoes and corn, selection of the best ecological honey products, performances by folklore groups and children's choirs – Bundevijada offers all of this, and much more.
A particularly attractive part of programme will be the presentation of the traditional life in a typical house of the region with authentic furniture – during the festival, a local family will demonstrate to the visitors how people in this area used to live and work in the past.
