Mali Lošinj Tourism Office
Now a full member of the UNWTO Knowledge Network
Earlier this year the Mali Lošinj Tourism Office, the main promoter of tourism on the island of Lošinj, became a member of the UNWTO Knowledge Network. The network aims to support the development of high-quality tourism projects across the world.
The Mali Lošinj Tourism Office is the only Croatian tourist board that has recently become member of the UNWTO Knowledge Network, an international programme among UNWTO member states (United Nations World Tourism Organisation) aimed at improving competitiveness, promoting and developing high-quality tourist products.
The invitation to join the Knowledge Network, which came earlier this year from UNWTO's headquarters, is a great recognition for professionals working in the Mali Lošinj Tourism Office. This is also a great chance to acquire new experiences, become informed about latest trends in tourism, join other UNWTO projects, and of course to additionally promote the island of Lošinj.
Thanks to the innovative approach to the creation of its programmes, Lošinj today boasts some extraordinary tourist projects. These include Fragrances and Tastes of the Island of Lošinj, Around the World with Lošinj Sails, 125 Years of Health Tourism on the island of Lošinj, the area's rich cultural heritage, and many more. These attractive projects were developed to comply with sustainable development and high-quality destination management requirements, and this membership attests to their quality.
The main mission of the UNWTO Knowledge Network is cooperation in the fields of tourist innovation, knowledge, science and technology, with the aim of improving the competitiveness of tourism offer. The membership brings many advantages, such as advisory support by some leading tourism experts or the support in creating large projects and promotion. In the words of the director of the Mali Lošinj Tourism Office Ms. Đurđica Šimičić, it is also possible that Lošinj's experiences will be helpful to someone else in creating their offer.
