Stimulate your emotions and life energy

To boost your self-confidence and energy before taking important life or business decisions, or if you are looking for a good place to recuperate in natural surroundings, we recommend visiting the island of Lošinj, deeply inhaling the spring air to feel the powerful effects of the fragrant plants that grow here in abundance – laurel, rosemary and eucalyptus. You will also have the opportunity to learn why March is regarded here as the month of forgiveness, tears and prayers. Past and present, man and nature have existed here in perfect harmony, creating the island's unique story.

On the island of Lošinj, one dessert is particularly highly appreciated not only for its fine taste, but also for the message it carries. In the past, women from Lošinj used to prepare rosemary cake to their husbands who sailed at sea as a proof and symbol of their fidelity. If you decide to visit Lošinj this spring, your hosts – organised by the Mali Lošinj Tourist Board – will share this recipe and some ancient customs with you, bringing back to life the story about farewells, fidelity, and the joy of reunion. This is why rosemary, the symbol of fidelity, is traditionally present on local weddings.
Laurel is a Mediterranean plant that also grows abundantly on the island of Lošinj and has some beneficial effects on human health. Its essential oil helps strengthen self-confidence and restore energy. The third plant of this month, eucalyptus, protects the body (especially respiratory organs) and is therefore one of the main reasons why Lošinj's local climate has such a beneficial effect on the respiratory system.
A stay on the island of Lošinj in March is an ideal opportunity to visit this month's aromatherapy workshop dedicated to the essential oils of rosemary, laurel and eucalyptus. There you can learn how to use rosemary to prevent spring fatigue, laurel to improve circulation, or how to make a soothing salty foot bath.
If you are on Lošinj on the 25th of March, you will have the opportunity to participate in the island's biggest celebration – the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and enjoy the staging of the tradition of bidding farewell to seamen. The ceremony starts with a holy mass in the small church of Annunziata, and continues by hugs, kisses, ship departure, and waving goodbye with a white handkerchief, hoping that this will be just a temporary separation. If you would like to experience a part of this tradition, make sure to visit Mali Lošinj on the 25th of March, where you can travel back in time for a while, and then return to the present to enjoy the scents, tastes and original souvenirs of this beautiful island. Past and present, nature and ancient customs will become united just for you this March on the island of Lošinj.
