ADAC awards Yellow Plaques to campsites on the islands of Cres and Lošinj
Slatina campsite in Martinščica on the island of Cres, and Poljana campsite in Mali Lošinj on the island of Lošinj have again this year each won the Yellow Plaque, an ADAC award for improved quality of services and the overall good impression created in the previous season.
Is there a better proof of the constant quality than the award by the leading European camping guide – the German Automobile Club, ADAC. The prizes were awarded on CMT, the specialised camping fair that was recently held in Stuttgart. Among 5500 campsites in Europe, 79 won the highest award – the red plaque or the Superplatz mark. Two of them are from Croatia: the Lanterna campsite near Poreč, and Zaton campsite near Zadar. Further nine Croatian campsites won the yellow plaque, a special award for systematically improving the quality of the offer and the overall good impression in the last season. Two of these nine campsites are from Kvarner: Slatina campsite in Martinščica on the island of Cres, and Poljana campsite in Mali Lošinj on the island of Lošinj.
This award, which the campsite Poljana in Mali Lošinj has been receiving since 2005, reflects the high quality of its services and facilities. It is also the best proof of the quality to which this campsite aspires. Apart from high-quality pitches, sanitary facilities and the overall appearance of the campsite, the campsite personnel is particularly proud of the high quality of the services provided to the visitors of all age groups. Being located on the island of Lošinj, Poljana campsite also offers some of the island's most popular programmes, such as the Fragrant gardens, a selection of food based on local plants, and interesting entertainment programmes within the project " Around the World with Lošinj Sails".
Slatina sampsite, located in Martinšćica on the island of Cres, has not only received high grades in the guide and won the Yellow Plaque, but has also received special recognition for the innovative project entitled "Camping Cum Cane", aimed at providing a pleasant stay both for visitors with and without dogs. This project was initiated in 2007, and was already awarded in 2008. Slatina is a campsite with one of the most beautiful pebble beaches on the island of Cres. It has a total of 110 pitches, 400 places for tents, 50 mobile homes, and various facilities for all types of visitors.
