Art Cinema Croatia, Rijeka
DORF Documentary Rock Film Festival

The DORF Documentary Rock Film Festival takes place from the 10th to the 13th of March in two Croatian towns simultaneously – Rijeka and Vinkovci. For movie and rock fans, this will be a great opportunity to enjoy some excellent films. Particularly worth emphasising is the premiere of one of the most awarded musical documentaries in 2010 – "We don't care about music anyway", by the French authors Cedric Dupire and Gaspard Kuentz.

For the second year in the row, Rijeka has been chosen as the partner town of the renowned Vinkovci DORF Documentary Rock Film Festival. Simultaneously with the festival in Vinkovci, Rijeka's Art Cinema Croatia will host screenings from the 10th to the 13th of March. The reason why Rijeka was chosen this year again lies in the excellent attendance during the last year's festival. The audience is obviously eager to view such rock films, which is why the organisers expect an even better attendance this year.
The festival will include a total of 20 films that are divided in the following categories: films from the region, international films, and out of competition.
The international programme will include some very attractive titles, such as "Lemmy" (film about Lemmy Kilmister, Motorhead frontman), or "Upside down: Creation Records Story". Also particularly worth mentioning is the premiere of one of the most awarded musical documentaries in 2010: "We don't care about music anyway" by the French authors Cedric Dupire and Gaspard Kuentz. This film presents eight underground musicians from Tokyo and their relationship with Japan at the beginning of this millennium.
The category of regional films will include eight titles, three of them from Croatia. The first of them, "Rock'n'roll je kriv za sve?" by Dean Lalić, Marko Bezić and Sanjin Stanić, tells the story of Rijeka's rock group "Fit". The second is "Druga strana rock and rolla" by Silvio Mirošničenk, and the third is  "Neue Slawonische Kunst" by Slobodan Šijan and Stjepan Pete, which portrays the "musical resistance movement" during war in Osijek.
The out-of-competition selection will include a masterpiece of the ex-Yugoslavian cinematography, "Mlad i zdrav kao ruža" by Jovan Jovanović from 1971.
The 2011 DORF Documentary Rock Film is organised by "Rare" Film Fans Association from Vinkovci in cooperation with Art Cinema Croatia from Rijeka and the Croatian Film Clubs Association.
