Ravna Gora
2nd "From Granny's Old Chest" Antiques Festival

The traditional heritage of Gorski kotar will again be the main star of the 2nd Antiques Festival entitled "From Granny's Old Chest" which takes place on the 7th and 8th of May in Ravna Gora. For those interested in how people here lived in the past, in their customs, in what they ate, and how they enjoyed themselves, this event is not to be missed.

The second antiques festival entitled "From Granny's Old Chest", which will take place on the 7th and 8th of May in Gorski kotar's famous resort of Ravna Gora, will present some forgotten yet interesting customs of the local area. The festival will include the exhibition of old photographs and postcards entitled "People and customs", various workshops in nature, staging of the old customs, a fair of antiques, hand-made products and home-made souvenirs, and a cultural and entertainment programme. The fairs will take place in the Ravna Gora House of Culture. Visitors will have the opportunity to see some interesting items from granny's old chest and also to taste some forgotten dishes and a variety of traditional specialities. Music will be performed by tamburica-players from Ravna Gora and other local musicians, folklore ensembles and the children's tamburica orchestra.
The exhibition entitled "People and customs" will run until the end of May in the SPC Goranka. The aim of this festival, organised by the Fruits of Gorski kotar's Mountains Association, is to promote and preserve local cultural and historical heritage.
