Veli Lošinj
19th Dolphin Day

If you've ever wanted to learn more about the fascinating world of dolphins, we strongly recommend a visit to the island of Lošinj or, more precisely, to its resort town of Veli Lošinj. On the 1st of July, Veli Lošinj will be hosting its 19th Dolphin Day, an educational and entertainment event dedicated to these lovely mammals that live in the waters off Lošinj.

Do you like dolphins? If you would like to learn more about these sea animals, we recommend a visit to the small town of Veli Lošinj on the island of Lošinj, which hosts the 19th Dolphin Day on the 1st of July. This educational and entertainment event traditionally attracts numerous visitors who want to learn more about dolphins, but also about the activities related to the Adriatic Dolphin Project – a long-term research of bottlenose dolphins in the waters off the islands of Lošinj and Vis. The interest for this event, just like the number of visitors, is increasing every year. It is important to say that the Dolphin Day always has very good media coverage by journalists from various media: newspapers, radio stations, and TV.
The programme of the Dolphin Day includes lectures, exhibitions, workshops, games, sporting competitions and much more. Because of the increasing number of visitors, the event is constantly being improved and upgraded, but the main goal is always the same – to provide relevant information not only through lectures, but through a variety of interesting interactive programmes aimed at all age groups, particularly children.
One of the main features of the Dolphin Day, which made this event widely recognisable, is the large exhibition of children's artistic works on the subject of the sea and dolphins. Every year there are more and more drawings and paintings from all over Croatia and abroad coming to this event, which means that the competition for winning an award is constantly increasing.
