World Hiking Day on the island of Lošinj
Osoršćica is ready to welcome you!

If you decide to visit the island of Lošinj on the 23rd of October, World Hiking Day, you will have the opportunity to join a hiking trip to the peaks of the island's Osoršćica mountain. Which of the two routes up the mountain to choose depends primarily on your physical fitness...

To mark the World Hiking Day, the Mali Lošinj Tourism Office and the local mountaineering club organise a hiking trip to the island's Mount Osoršćica with the aim of promoting healthy lifestyle, good physical fitness and taking care of health. Depending on your fitness, you can choose among two routes. The more demanding route takes approximately four hours and starts from Nerezine. The first station on this route is Sv. Mikul, considered by many the most beautiful mountain peak on the island of Lošinj, with the Chapel of St. Nicholas.

The next station is the island's highest peak Televrin (589 m), which in the past was visited by the Austrian heir to the throne Rudolf. The route continues to the St. Gaudentius Alpine Hut and ends in Osor. This route, very popular among visitors to Lošinj and Cres at any time of the year, contributes to your overall well-being and good shape, and also impresses with some beautiful views of the Cres-Lošinj archipelago, which in good weather can reach as far as Gorski kotar and the Velebit mountain range on the mainland.

For those who are not in such a good shape, or just want to take a shorter trip, we recommend the less demanding route that starts in Osor, continues to the St. Gaudentius Alpine Hut, and ends in Osor. This tour takes approximately 1.5 hours of walking. Your efforts will be rewarded with the enjoyment of unspoilt nature and magnificent views of the surrounding areas. One final advice: if you decide to celebrate the World Hiking Day in such an active way, do not forget to wear suitable shoes and clothes and take all necessary equipment and enough water or natural juice to drink.
