And the winners are…
Rab, Opatija and Krk absolute champions of Croatian tourism

In addition to the title of 2011 Croatian Tourism Champion, which was awarded to the town of Rab, this island has won several special awards. The towns of Opatija and Krk were named as the most well-tended Adriatic resorts in the categories of large and small towns respectively.

In the Tourist Flower – Quality for Croatia campaign, the town of Rab was declared Croatian tourism champion in 2011, and the towns of Opatija and Krk were awarded the Blue Flowers as best coastal resorts in the categories of more than 10,000 inhabitants and 3,000 to 10,000 inhabitants respectively.
In addition to being the Croatian tourism champion, the island of Rab also won the award for the best beach (Lopar), the best souvenir (souvenir set made of shells by the Art Studio Patrikana Rab), and the best tourist event – the famous Rapska fjera. No wonder, having in mind Rab's tourism offer, its tradition, history, and numerous events and services offered. It is worth remembering that Rab has a tradition of 120 years of tourism and is distinguished for its beautiful nature, magnificent beaches and valuable cultural heritage, which was the basis for the awarded event entitled Rapska fjera. Rab is a destination known for its high-quality hotels and other types of accommodation, mild climate, long walking paths and particularly friendly hosts.
Another well-known Adriatic destination is Opatija, which this year again won the title of the best large resort on the Croatian coast thanks to continuous efforts of its tourism professionals. This is a proof that Opatija is still one of the most elegant destinations in Croatia. Built at the turn of the 19th and the 20th centuries, Opatija with its well-tended parks, beautiful flowerbeds and the famous Lungomare seafront promenade, which now celebrates its 100th anniversary, managed to preserve its sophisticated harmony with nature, history and culture.
A network of excellent hotels, restaurants, wellness centres and convention venues further improves the renown of Opatija as a high-class tourist destination.
The town of Krk on the island of the same name won valuable recognition as the best small coastal town. This island is known for its olive groves and excellent wine. The town of Krk is renowned for its cultural heritage and rich history, but also for modern tourism services and facilities that guarantee a pleasant and interesting stay.
