42nd Kvarner Amateur Film Review
Kvarner Amateur Film Review, one of the oldest amateur film festivals in the world, this year takes place in Rijeka's Art Cinema Croatia on the 3rd of December. This will be the festival's 42nd year, with many feature-length and short films by film-makers from Croatia and abroad.
On the 3rd of December, Rijeka's Art Cinema Croatia, which is famous for being oriented at less well-known film-makers and amateur films, will host an important amateur film event – the 42nd KRAF Kvarner Amateur Film Review. This is one of the oldest amateur film festivals in the world – it was founded in 1969 by the Liburnia Film Rijeka.
Thanks to its rich tradition, the KRAF has been very popular among film amateurs from Croatia and abroad. This year's festival will again present many international pieces.
This is one of the KRAF's leitmotifs – to be open towards each type of audience and film-makers, including enthusiasts, experts of various professional levels, and complete laymen who are only entering the fascinating world of film.
Every year, the festival combines tradition and novelty. In addition to the screenings of feature, documentary, experimental and animated films, and music videos in the duration of 1 to 10 minutes, this year's KRAF will include another programme with different rules: 1 film-maker/3 films; 1 association/3 films, plus the audience award for best film on the KRAF. In previous years, the awards included the best three films and the grand prix. From this year, the audience will also have the opportunity to vote for the best films.
With regard to the fact that this is a festival that gives insight into various cultural and artistic worldviews by presenting numerous films in a short period of time, this is really an ideal chance for all film fans to enjoy numerous previously unseen films in one place and in one day.
