Municipality of Jelenje
The best presentation of the Municipality

Promotional film “Municipality of Jelenje – a pleasant surprise” wins the quality award on the 10th International Tourist Film Festival.

The Municipality of Jelenje is located on the border of the coastal and mountainous areas in the north-western part of the Kvarner region, next to the town of Rijeka. The promotional film “Municipality of Jelenje – a pleasant surprise” is the first audiovisual marketing material to give a complete presentation of tourist attractions in the area. The film gives an account of the region’s beautiful nature, people, tradition, culture, customs and gastronomic offer. It won the quality award on the 10th International Tourist Film Festival among 170 films from 53 countries.

The film has been synchronised in Croatian, English, German and Italian, and a shorter version should soon be available on the website of the Municipality of Jelenje.

“Municipality of Jelenje – a pleasant surprise” differs from other films of the kind because it presents the area through individual stories, beauties of nature and local gastronomy. The film reflects the spirit of the local area, the hospitality of its inhabitants, and the overall atmosphere of the region.

Tourist attractions in the Jelenje area include the Grobnik Automotodrom, old mills in Trnovica and Martinovo selo, the old blacksmith forge in Dražice and the source of River Rječina in Zvir. Local inhabitants have recently shown a growing interest for folklore and musical tradition.

Additional advantage for the development of tourism in Jelenje is the area’s favourable geographical position – the centre of the County, Rijeka, and the beaches on the seacoast are just a few kilometres away.

The municipality authorities intend to attract new visitors by opening new accommodation facilities and building a golf course.
