In the period between the 26th of May and the 3rd of June, Zagreb and Rijeka will host the 25th Dance Week Festival, presenting 13 choreographers and companies from 12 countries. As an introduction to this year's edition of the largest festival of modern dance in Croatia, Zagreb recently hosted a two-day guest performance of the leading Israeli dance performers, Inbal Pinto Dance Company, already well known to Croatian audience. This time, the company presented its “Shaker” performance, for which it was rewarded with great ovations. The choreographers of this performance, Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Polak, last year received an award for this work from the Israeli Ministry of Culture and Education.
The greatest attraction of the 25th Dance Week Festival is the performance entitled “Entity” by the British Random Dance Company. This work was premiered on the 10th of April in London, and its author is one of the leading contemporary choreographers, Wayne McGregor.
The organiser of the Dance Week Festival is the Croatian Institute for Movement and Dance. During 24 years of its history, the Festival presented well over 500 renowned artists from many countries and hosted about fifty premieres of Croatian authors.
