Krk
3rd International diving eco action

More than two hundred divers from Croatia and abroad are going to participate in the International diving eco action that is scheduled for the 17th of May in the town of Krk. Therefore, this action is not only important in terms of ecology, but it is also a promotional event.

On the 17th of May, the Town of Krk and its Tourism Board in collaboration with the Bios Diving Centre organise the 3rd international ecological action of cleaning the seabed in the Krk harbour. More than two hundred divers from Slovenia, Italy, Austria and Croatia are going to take part in this year's action, which is important not only in terms of ecology, but also as a promotion of the area. In the waters off the island of Krk and its nearby islands are some 150 very attractive diving locations. As before, this year's diving eco action in Krk was joined by many clubs from Croatia and abroad, therefore it can be considered an important event whose participants show a high degree of the awareness about the necessity to preserve the environment. The town of Krk generally pays much attention to the protection of the environment, which is attested by as many as five Blue Flags that were rewarded to its beaches. Apart from the diving eco action, Krk also hosts other activities that have the aim of making public beaches and parks nicer and tidier. The ecological and educational action entitled I love Croatia, which has been carried out within the system of Croatian tourism boards for several years now, is aimed at pupils from primary and secondary schools, while shippers make significant contribution in preserving town beaches and harbours.
